Dear readers,
This is the final POETRY IN EDEN post of the year. The time-off is planned for a review and refresh of the content. Personal insights and newsletter data insights will inform new formats. Quality is important to me, and quality is almost infinitely improvable and hackable.
Poetry is my natural form of writing, so it has only been my pleasure. We’re onto something. We’re unearthing something here, together.
Before I go, blessings are abundant, and I pray will remain this way for you too.
I recently started writing the second book of the ICARUS series. Since it always has a historical element, this means I have started the year(s)-long research phase. My current research is focused on a prominent German woman from WWII. Her character appears to me as an unreliable narrator, one of the most difficult forms of fiction-writing to learn and master.
“Unreliable narrator examples date back hundreds of years. Medieval poet and chronicler Geoffrey Chaucer used various unreliable narrators in The Canterbury Tales, for example the bragging and exaggerating Wife of Bath.”
This character currently stands for the women who choose the side of the oppressor and bask in the privilege. The women who remain unconscious because it is easier. The women who prefer evil and drama, over piety and peace. I am diving deep, and I am digging in. Wish me luck. Thank you.
May your energy be yours
I call all energy and power back to you. All scattered energies and intentions, I invite back into your heart centre. With this energy concentrated inward, we can shine our light.
The light is more necessary than ever. Life is full of uncertainty, and grounding aligns us. I am settling down. I am building a home. I am choosing love over everything else. Trust in the universe and God guides towards peace and truth.
Social-likes experiment
My adventure on social media continues. After many years of resistance, I have a TikTok. The platform is intuitive and growing a base, already at a +57% weekly follow-rate, is promising. It takes less than 5 minutes to create high quality, digestible content. Fifteen second formats with subtitles are an easy entry point. This approach continues, and the discovery is exciting.
Instagram is harder. Cut through is difficult, and I drown in the sea of endless content. Followers receive all my recent posts and my most viewed posts, which can lead to consumer overload. I will crack Instagram, no worries, but thank you for being patient as I try new formats.
My voice and my face in this social-likes experiment feels vulnerable. I lean into the vulnerability because it is fundamentally important to me. Thank you for being safe. Thank you for listening.
Agency & Choice
A life of choice calls our power back to us. What are we without our agency and choice? What are we if we do not stand by our choices?
I move slow. I observe. I am thoughtful. I feel shy. I feel bold. I feel free. I am love. I am like the singing man on a bicycle. He sings his favourite tune. His inner child is free as he rides and rides his bicycle into the summer sun. He has talent, but shares it in a simple, straightforward manner, riding down our street, singing a familiar tune each morning, a consistent expectation in our life.
Be like the singing man on a bicycle. Be free. Choose joy. Life is short and long. Love wins.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice.” This year was interesting, and I am grateful for life, but now, I am anticipating the bend of the long arc.
Patience is a virtue. Thank you for being patient too. Thank you.
No assumptions, from Eve
I bid you adieu. . .
Not forever, but for a month or two.
I will emerge anew.
I will know what to do.
ICARUS is always the focus.
There just are new routes and formats
that are just as important.
I do not hesitate to explore them.
I am not the judge,
And neither are you.
So let’s honour life
and let’s be true.
Master your internal compass,
and align with your purpose.
Pain is natural.
Let it pass.
But do not suffer
And make it last.
Sometimes life rolls
Like tumbleweed —
The wind blows with no meaning.
I bathe in the eternal love.
I open my heart.
I am trying to do my part.
Trust, I am trying to do my part.
My heart holds space for one.
His love is like the shining sun.
May the universe protect you.
May you only know peace.
May the skies never forget you.
May you find a divine release.
May you open your mind with love.
May you respect all paths.
May we make no assumptions
and communicate in a way that makes relationships last.
Good luck and many blessings to you!
