Here are two unreleased poems: one inspired by Saturnβs moons and the other by the simple beauty of life. I hope they inspire you and that you enjoy them. Cheers!
π TETHYS AND MIMAS π
I sat down on Saturn and knew
The rotating rings and the craters of
Its moons would always make me swoon
From our rapturous, roaring love.
Like a waterfall, it goes down
And around the corner. Over rocks
And moss, it does not stop.
The feeling is deep and profound.
The rock dust gets stuck between our toes.
Yet, I know when the nights turn
Violet black and cold, I will remember
The sun is just one planet beneath the fold.
So many stories untold and so many timelines
Unfold before our eyes. It is to no oneβs surprise
When the booming beat of the galaxy takes over me
And we see the one-way train to Tethys and Mimas.
π¦ THE FOX OF LIFE π¦
I am not larger than life, so I pause when I see others standing on top of their mountains looking down with contempt, advice, and spite. I am a small part of this vast universe, and I know my transient indecisions could drive my old soul to its ultimate oblivion, any day now. Though, I am so proud of myself, and I am so proud of you. It is true. I am so vulnerable, and it makes me feel brave, hopeful, and courageous. Like the vastness of the skyβs blue.
Your throbbing parts make my heart beat even like the perfect amount of levain in challah bread. You said, βLife is long, and short.β So simple, but it made more sense than the modern ability to transport mankind with trains, planes, and automobiles. My life is a still life made with water colours in Spring and Summer, and oil paint in Fall and Winter. Past makes foregrounds. Present makes backgrounds. The future makes skylines.
It is the mix of cobblestone streets and asphalt pavements which may always take my breath away. I always say, βI do not need much. A roof over my head and a bed. My lover who is also my best friend. A way to survive, and the ability to see the horizon at the beach sometimes.β Time keeps going by . . . Yes. Time keeps going by. The fox of life is sly, shy, and wise.
